Editorial Guidelines
These guidelines explain how the posts on our blog are planned, written, checked and kept up to date.
Who writes our posts
Posts are published by The Media Exchange Team, the photographers, videographers and editors who cover weddings across the San Francisco Bay Area: San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, Napa and Sonoma.
How we choose topics
We write about what couples planning a Bay Area wedding search for, using keyword research and what we see at the weddings and venues we cover. We don’t publish a second post on a topic we have already covered.
How posts are written
Drafts are prepared with the help of AI writing tools, from a brief built on that research. Every draft is then reviewed and edited by our team, and nothing is published until it has been.
Facts and sources
Venue details, prices, permits and rules change. Before a post is published we check them against the venue’s or the official source’s own website, link to that source where it helps, and say when a figure is an estimate.
Keeping posts up to date
Every post shows the date it was last updated. We revisit posts when the details in them change, and update that date when we do.
Corrections
If something in a post is wrong or out of date, tell us through the form at the bottom of any page. We’ll check it, correct the post and update its date.
